WWW (Wednesday Words of Wisdom)

My first installment of #WWW (#WednesdayWordsOfWisdom). While I love the internet for #WCW (Woman Crush Wednesday), Wednesday Words of Wisdom seems a bit more fitting here.

So here it is…WWW:

“Think you can lose weight, think you can’t lose weight; either way you will be right.”

—Felicity Luckey

Attitude is everything. I know plenty of people who have struggled with weight loss. The ups and downs, the plateaus, the caving in every time you want to cheat on your nutrition plan, the sleeping in when you should be at the gym working toward your goals. Hell, I’ve even been there myself.

The bottom line is, if YOU want it, YOU will work for it. You can have all the guidance and support in the world, but if your mind isn’t in the game, and you aren’t ready to give yourself over to change your health and fitness, it’ll never happen. I recently began working with a client who I’ve known for years, and she’s gone up and down in weight so many times throughout the duration of the time I’ve known her. She lost more than 100 pounds on her own, gained it all back, lost another 60, and then gained that back and continued to gain more. I wanted to help her so much, but I knew that until she was ready to change, there wasn’t much more I could do other than say “I’m here when you’re ready.”

She finally is ready and has lost that 60-plus pounds she had gained back. She continues to make progress each and every month, week, day, hour, and minute. It’s a long process. Weight doesn’t go on over night–it’s not going to come off overnight. It’s a journey. Be patient. Be consistent. But most of all, be in the right MINDSET. If you have the attitude you can do it, and you consistently stay on the path of ‘I think I can’, you will.

Happy #WWW!
